Typing as I Go Down The Highway

I really am.

I got beeped around 1330 waking me up last night. I couldn’t stand the mystery so I got up to see what it was. I had a load assignment picking up there at the Trenton yard and delivering in Knoxville TN. Again, not many miles. I got some more sleep ( not much) and got up around 0430 to get ready to go. By 0515 I was moving.

After dropping the load I sent a ready message and got offered a load. It was carpet, picking up in Dalton GA and delivering in Eau Clair WI. The catch was that I had to give a driver in Cartersville a ride to Black River Falls WI. I agreed because it’s good miles but was a little concerned about the rider.

Dispatch didn’t know why he was needing a ride to the World Headquarters of Millis Transfer. Was he new or was he in trouble or something. What if he wanted to smoke or cuss or complain all the way there.

It turns out he is a Millis Southeast Region driver and he is going there to pick up one of the new trucks that they are going to use.

I drove to Cartesville, after picking up the load on the way, and picked him up and then drove to Manchester TN. That used up my driving hours so right now he is driving, and I am in the back typing.
